Hello, my name is Laurie Kiselyk and I teach with the grade 5 team at Landing Trail Intermediate School. My husband Joel and I live out at Baptiste Lake with our two kiddos; Ayla (10) and Cameron (8). There we are surrounded by beautiful scenery and endless opportunities for fun. Growing up in Athabasca and attending school within Aspenview has provided me with unique and rich learning experiences. I actually teach grade 5 in the same classroom that I attended when I was a grade 5 student.I began teaching at Whispering Hills Primary School in 2009 before my time at Landing Trail Intermediate. Throughout my career I have taught K-6 with the exception of grade 4. This is my 8th year teaching grade 5, time is flying by!Teaching Philosophy:I believe that all students are capable of learning, and it is my job to help them. When teaching I firmly believe in understanding the whole child, and not just their academic self. When students, teachers, schools and families work together magic happens. Learning new information is fun, challenging at times, and always rewarding. Education:UofA: Bachelor of Education BEd.Likes and Dislikes ?L= Steeped tea with 2 sugars from Tims.?L= Shades of blue and mustard yellow.?L= Naps in the sun?L= Korean TV dramas on Netflix ?D= Mice?D= Coffee ?D= Post game athlete interviews?D= Cabbage Rolls
